I grew up in Plymouth, Minnesota and enjoyed everything that Minnesota has to offer, from boating on Lake Minnetonka in the summers to skating on the ponds in the winter.
Growing up playing sports was my life. I was fortunate enough to play baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer and excel in football. The memories and lessons learned in every one of these sports have helped shape me into the person that I am today. I learned what it takes to be a part of a successful team through hard work, strategy, determination, celebrations and defeat. I also learned what it takes to be a leader and mentor both on and off the field. I am forever grateful to all of those who helped me along my journey in sports.
As early as 15 years old I knew I had a passion for business and finance in particular when I started following the stock market through the management of a hypothetical $100,000 portfolio. By my senior year of high school I had obtained my first internship. Following my freshman year at the University of Minnesota I was selected as the youngest intern in my summer internship class at Northwestern Mutual. Through that experience I really learned the value of networking, time management, self-motivation and commitment to achieving what you set out to accomplish.
